Sleep Over With A View

Sleep Over With A View

Woke up on Saturday with every intention of being in my PJs all day and generally pissing my big brother off. I had gone to his on Friday to spend the weekend with him and Laura.

Started by attacking his bottle of Bourbon for breakfast, then took over the TV, while teaching Lau how to pinch him. He kept threatening to throw me out. Joker!

Called my Friend Uju who had come into town on Friday and was leaving on Sunday. I was hoping she'd come around. She suggested we get a hotel room somewhere for some girly catch up instead.

I booked Sunborn Yacht Hotel straight away and bade the moaning big brother goodbye!

We met up in Canary Wharf, looked around the shops and then went to Wahaca for a quick meal and some tequila.

Then headed to the yacht hotel. We stopped at the corner shop to grab a bottle of tequila which was emptied in 90 minutes.

Just our luck, we got the best room ever with a whole front deck of the 5th floor to ourselves. We kept jumping about like two excited kids high on sugar (tequila in our case).

Went to the bar to socialise and get some food. Had some more (spicy) tequila.

Woke up to a nice sunrise. Made myself a cup of coffee and braved the cold for some fresh air and amazing views.

And then we went down for breakfast. I went in my PJs.

It was a cold morning but who cares? We had to make the most of the balcony.

Peek-a-boo Uju

View from our balcony

We also had this sitting area attached to our room.

I didn't want to leave. I wish Uju didn't have a 4pm flight to catch, we would have stayed an extra night.

Hopped on the Emirates cable car and went home.

I have to mention that Maryiam was very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. She welcomed us warmly and was all smiles all the times we saw her.

I hope to be back for a much longer stay and I will be requesting room 5038.

xx
